When was the last time you brushed up on your Creo skills? If it has been longer than a year, you’ll want to check out PTC University’s latest, reimagined Creo offerings. With close to two decades of experience under his belt, our Creo Curriculum Director, Matt Huybrecht, walked our customers through the new Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) formats during his recent webinar, Coffee and Creo. The group grabbed their favorite cup of joe and took a deep dive into the latest offerings. So, what’s new? Well, everything.

We’ve listened to your feedback and made dramatic changes to ensure your experience is truly best-in-class training. First, we’ve focused on making it easy for you. No longer will you be committed to sitting in a training room for days at a time performing each individual pick and click. The new VILT offerings are modular and made to fit into your schedule with multiple live courses offered every week. Each class is three hours in duration and designed for busy schedules. You can choose a session that works best for you depending on your timeframe, while still participating live with some of the best trainers in the field.

The VILTs are designed to encourage open collaboration with your colleagues in the industry about how to best problem solve in Creo. The four core pillars: modeling, assembly, documentation, and analysis are still covered, but you are also taught high-level important points that are augmented by case studies, knowledge checks, and discussion points. Communicating with instructors and contemporaries in real time allows you to engage and innovate together – doing exactly what Creo was designed to do. You’ll see the steps are shorter with only a few steps per task, giving you just enough guidance without completely holding your hand. The rest, you figure out as you go with your instructor - because the science tells us that’s how you’ll learn best.

And what’s even better is now you have the option to obtain two different types of Creo certification: the Creo Fundamentals Certification covering the first six flagship courses and the Professional Certification which covers the entire catalogue. You can use these certifications to showcase your authority in Creo, give you clout in the field, and add to your resume.

Another solution we’ve found for you is providing you with virtual machines. Now you won’t have to worry about versioning or licensing. We use Amazon AppStream which is a fully managed application streaming service and allows us to bring the latest Creo environment right to your computer hassle free. We do recommend having at least two monitors at the ready to make the most out of your VILT experience.

But now that we’ve hooked you, your first step is to head here to check out our new offerings for the LEARN Online Subscription program. It contains 120 hours of our new VILT content ready and waiting for you to sign up. Then, your second step is to keep an eye out for an upcoming webinar covering the details of the new highly anticipated certification programs. And your final step? Register, enroll, and enjoy your experience. We’re proud of this redesign and can’t wait to share it with you. So, join us with a cup of coffee, settle in, and let us know what you think. We’re listening.
